The newt season is upon us. The warm weather and the progression of Spring continues. The ponds have become active with frogs, toads and newts courting and laying eggs. Here is a picture of a female Great Crested Newt laying an egg. If you have a building project on with the possibility of newts in a pond, it is time to test the pond. This can be done with eDNA testing and can be done following all the Government guidelines on social distancing. If you require a pond testing, give me a call on 07807 655237 for an informal chat.
