Joys of ECoW work

When watching areas being cleared for a building project, all you sometimes get are earthworms and some beetles. All of them have a vital role to play in the ecosystem but unfortunately are not given the credit they deserve. When clearing some areas for a roundabout modification scheme, I had to remove a frog, a juvenile grass-snake and 5 Field Voles. All in one week. Other times you do not see anything.
